This evaluation is a RISE Peer Review, on David Pope’s prototype. I would like to start out by saying that I absolutely love that you used your own design, and you took your own picture and everything. That is amazing! It really tells to your audience that you are versatile in your artistic abilities, and you stand by your product so passionately, that you are willing to take full responsibility for the outcome of the entire design. That is so admirable, and I love seeing the heart in your piece.
I think the only inquiry I have is why you chose to use leftovers and that specific wall decoration in your background? If I had a guess, I would say that it is either because you work from home, or you didn’t really take notice to it too much. I did notice that you put a bottle of liquor in the background, and I love that detail. It gives the ad an inviting and free party feel to it, which I believe creates a connection to the specific audience and age range that you are reaching out to.
If I have to suggest anything, I would say to maybe make your text untextured. It blends in with the floor, and it makes it sort of hard to read. That’s all I can think of at the moment!
In order to elevate the project, I would also make both the text and the headphones a bright or bold untextured color. I believe this will cause them to stand out and form some kind of visual hierarchy in the design. As it stands, though there are random splashes of color, nothing specifically immediately stands out. I love the “stucco” feel to this, and you have a ton of really awesome elements here! Great piece, again, I cannot stress enough how much I like that you did this all yourself. Very original David, I love it!
